Elizabeth K. Russo
ELIZABETH K. RUSSO. Founder. Attended Wellesley College, and transferred to Cornell University, where she received her B.A. magna cum laude in 1975. Ms. Russo obtained her J.D. cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law, where she was an Editor of the Law Review.
Ms. Russo has over 35 years of experience as an appellate lawyer. She began her practice concentrating in litigation and admiralty law at the firm of Smathers & Thompson, and then joined Daniels and Hicks, P.A., the first firm in Florida to specialize exclusively in appellate practice. Ms. Russo was a partner at Daniels and Hicks from 1985 through 1990, and then left to form her own firm now known as the Russo Appellate Firm, P.A. Ms. Russo has been admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Florida Supreme Court, the five Florida District Courts of Appeal, and the United States First, Fifth, Sixth, and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeals.
Ms. Russo is AV Preeminent® rated by Martindale-Hubbell and is a Board Certified Appellate Practice Lawyer. Ms. Russo is a former Chair of the Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education, was the Board’s Liaison to the Florida Appellate Practice Certification Committee, and is a member of the Florida Bar Appellate Practice and Advocacy Section. Ms. Russo served on the Florida Standard Jury Instruction Committee from 2009 through 2015. Ms. Russo has been selected as one of the Best Lawyers in America each year from 2006 through 2020, and has also been chosen through peer selection as a Super Lawyer every year from 2007 through 2020.
